Welcome to B&N Publishers. Before you book a service, submit a manuscript, or get a quote from us, take a few minutes to go through these terms. They’re not here to trip you up — they’re here so both of us know exactly what we’re agreeing to.
By using this website or engaging any of our services, you’re agreeing to the terms laid out below. If something here doesn’t sit right with you, talk to us before moving forward — we’re generally reasonable people.
B&N Publishers is a book publishing and creative services company offering publishing support, editing, proofreading, ghostwriting, formatting, e-book writing, book promotion, audiobook production, and author website design, among other services, to authors across the USA and beyond. We’re based out of Gazelle, California.
What exactly you get depends on the package or service you agree to at the time of your consultation. Broadly, that can include manuscript editing, proofreading, formatting, cover design, self-publishing support across platforms like Amazon and Barnes & Noble, marketing, and related creative work.
Every project is different, so specific deliverables, timelines, and costs are confirmed individually — either through a written quote, a proposal, or an email agreement — before work begins. Nothing here should be read as a blanket promise of a specific outcome (like guaranteed sales numbers or bestseller status); we control the craft, not the market.
Your book is yours. Full stop.
Submitting a manuscript to us for editing, proofreading, formatting, or any other service does not transfer copyright, licensing rights, or ownership to B&N Publishers in any form. We’re a service provider working on your behalf — the finished book, its content, and all associated rights remain entirely with you, the author.
Any original design work we create for you (like cover art or interior layouts) as part of a paid service becomes yours upon full payment, unless we’ve agreed otherwise in writing.
Pricing is confirmed on a per-project basis, and typically requires an upfront deposit before work begins, with the balance due at agreed milestones or upon completion — this varies by service and will always be laid out clearly before you commit to anything.
Missed or late payments may pause active work on your project until things are settled. We’ll always give you a heads-up before that happens rather than just going silent.
Most of our packages include a set number of revision rounds, which will be specified at the time you agree to a service. Additional revisions beyond that may carry an extra cost, discussed with you directly.
Refund eligibility depends on how much work has already been completed on your project. If you cancel before work has started, you’re generally entitled to a full or partial refund of your deposit. Once editors, designers, or writers have begun active work, refunds are assessed case-by-case, since time and labor have already gone into your project. We’re not in the business of keeping money for work we haven’t done.
We give you a project timeline before starting, based on the scope of work. We do our best to hit it. Delays can happen — usually caused by late manuscript feedback, slow author response times, or, less often, on our end — and if that happens, we’ll tell you rather than let a deadline quietly slip past.
To keep things moving, we ask that you:
We reserve the right to pause or decline a project if submitted content appears to infringe on someone else’s copyright, contains unlawful material, or otherwise raises legal concerns.
Any book promotion, advertising, or marketing service we run is aimed at driving genuine visibility and reader interest. That said, marketing outcomes — sales figures, review counts, ranking positions — depend on many factors outside our direct control, including market conditions, genre demand, and reader response. We commit to the strategy and the effort; we can’t guarantee specific numbers.
You’re welcome to browse this site, read about our services, and reach out through our contact forms. Please don’t misuse the site — no scraping content, no attempting to breach security, no using the site for anything unlawful. Content on this website, including text, images, and branding, belongs to B&N Publishers unless stated otherwise, and shouldn’t be reused without permission.
We take our work seriously, but we’re not liable for indirect losses — lost sales, missed opportunities, or similar outcomes — that fall outside the direct services we’ve agreed to provide. Our responsibility is limited to delivering the service as scoped and agreed.
Business evolves, and so will this page occasionally. We’ll update the date at the top whenever changes are made. Continuing to use our services after an update means you’ve accepted the revised terms — but for anything major, we’ll try to give existing clients a direct heads-up too.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. If a disagreement ever comes up, we’d genuinely rather sort it out directly with you than let it turn formal. Reach out and we’ll talk it through.

Thanks for reading this far — most people don’t. We’d rather you know what you’re agreeing to than skim past it.
When you contact us through the website, request a quote, or sign up for one of our services, we typically end up with:
We don’t ask for anything we don’t need. If a form field feels intrusive, it’s probably because it helps our editors or publishing consultants understand your project better, not because we’re building a profile on you.
Honestly, most of it comes down to being able to do our job. We need your email to send you a quote. We need to know your manuscript’s condition to assign the right editor. We need billing details to process payment once you’ve agreed to work with us. A smaller portion of the data — the browsing analytics — helps us understand which pages on the site are actually useful and which ones people skip past.
We do not sell your information. Not to marketers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. If that ever changes for any part of our business, we’ll update this page and make it obvious, not bury it in fine print.
Your project details are shared internally with the team actually working on your book — editors, designers, proofreaders, whoever’s assigned. Beyond that, we occasionally work with third-party tools for things like email delivery, payment processing, and website analytics (think services like Google Analytics or a payment gateway). These providers only get what they need to do their specific job, and they’re bound by their own privacy obligations.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our authors, or the public — though in practice, this has never come up.
Like most websites, ours uses cookies to remember basic preferences and understand traffic patterns. You can disable cookies through your browser settings any time. Doing so might make parts of the site behave a little clunkier, but it won’t stop you from reaching out to us.
This deserves its own section because it matters so much to us: submitting your manuscript for review does not transfer any ownership or copyright to B&N Publishers. We see your work to evaluate it, edit it, or format it — never to claim it. Your intellectual property rights remain entirely with you, in full, always.
We hold onto client and project data for as long as it’s reasonably useful — during an active project, and for a period after in case you come back for another book or need records for tax or legal reasons. If you’d like your information removed sooner, just ask. Email us and we’ll take care of it, usually within a few business days.
You can ask us at any point to:
Our services are meant for adults working on publishing projects. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we find out we have, we’ll delete it.
Every so often we’ll update this page — new tools, new regulations, growing business, that kind of thing. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll make an effort to flag it more visibly, not just quietly edit the page.
